5 Must-Stay Camping Sites Near Las Vegas

Whether you’re looking for something a little close to home or a longer adventure away, around Las Vegas, you’ll find it all. Today, we’ve gathered a few of our favorites to help you choose your next camping trip.

1) Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

Designated as Nevada’s first National Conservation Area, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is only 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. So when you need to stay close to home but need to get away, this is the perfect stop. Stay at the Red Rock Canyon Campground to be near everything you could possibly want to do while you stay.

2) Willow Beach Campground & RV Park

Willow Beach Campground & RV Park is your premier full-service RV Park and tent campground. Only 30 minutes from Boulder City, this is a perfect weekend getaway without having to go too far away to get the quiet, beauty of nature. You’ll find breathtaking vistas of the Colorado River and distant mountain and desert landscapes. That will have you wanting to come back time and time again.

3) Lake Mead National Recreation Area

As America’s first national recreation area, Lake Mead National Recreation Area has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to spend time at the lake or want to do a bit of hiking you’ll find it here. And when you need somewhere to stay, there are so many options to choose from. Each time you visit you can find somewhere new.

4) Valley of Fire State Park

Known for the 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone, Valley of Fire State Park is a stunning place to camp for the weekend. Enjoy the adventure while you explore petrified trees and petroglyphs. And at the end of the day, head back to one of the campgrounds where you can get a peaceful night’s sleep in the middle of the quiet desert.

5) Desert Pass Campground

Desert Pass Campground is located in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. Making this a stunning place to stay. While it’s not for everyone, if you are up for some tent camping and have a high-clearance vehicle, we recommend you checking out the splendid beauty you can find here. All sites are free from charge and are first-served basis.
